Brain Injury Association of Ohio Annual Meeting - January 8,2022

The Brain Injury Association of Ohio kicked off 2022 by hosting our annual meeting January 8, 2022, virtually. It was an inspiring meeting where board president, Stephanie Ramsey, shared all of the activities and accomplishments of the association in 2021. BIAOH achieved many things in 2021, including a significant funding increase to sustain and grow programming. In the midst of all that has happened in 2020 and 2021, BIAOH was able to maintain our exemplary services including:

  • Our HELPLINE staffed by brain injury specialist, Cindy Shockey answered over 300 calls. Through this service, we were able to provide individualized information, referral, and support services. We assisted these callers in locating financial resources, specialty care, housing and community support services.

  • We maintained our website and Facebook resources with over 10,000 users throughout 2021 accessing Brain Injury resources 24/7.

  • We presented our Annual TBI Summit, which was attended by over 125 professionals, researchers, TBI survivors, family members and caregivers.

  • We provided support group materials to groups throughout the state for program facilitation and enrichment.

In addition, Dr. John Corrigan, from the Brain Injury Program and Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury shared an update on the new funding opportunities for the BRAINS project. Included in Dr. Corrigan’s presentation was a sneak preview of the new programs and program enhancements coming in 2022. A ballot was presented to the membership for the open board positions to be returned by Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Any current member that did not receive a ballot can request one through membership@biaoh.org. The presentations shared at the meeting can be found below.
